No Innocent Bystanders exists to provide a platform for a loosely-connected group of people to say their piece. We aim to communicate things that we personally feel passionate about, things that we feel deserve further consideration and a more substantial voice than they enjoy right now.
No Innocent Bystanders is a magazine, but we think that it?s a magazine which is not quite like any other magazine you will have come across. Any magazine is only as good as its content, and we are contributor-driven.
As a result you will find that each issue as a list of authors and their articles rather than a list of sections and sub-sections. This isn?t an ego-boost, but rather it is because we don?t feel it necessary to be tied to a set of sections and features that we as a collective would feel compelled to satisfy with every issue.
Likewise each contributor, whilst generally providing a particular type of article each month, has no obligation to do so, if indeed they contribute at all. We all lead rich and varied lives, and as a result we are moved and motivated by different situations, experiences or phenomena at different times.
At the same time, we will always give you a rich and varied set of articles. Politics, social commentary and observation, music, fiction ? these are important things to us, and might form the core of our offering. But dance, theatre, art, science, philosophy might equally feature in any edition.
We hope that what we offer is in some way a breath of fresh air for you, a chance to see things a little differently and perhaps think about things you?d never considered before.
At the end of the day this all boils down to communication ? the internet is what has powered and enabled us to collect our work together and bring it to you. And you can communicate with us in the same way. Tell us what you think - about what we?re doing, about what you?re doing, about anything that?s going on in the world around all of us. We welcome comments and contributions from anyone, anywhere.
